On route also discovered, that the Winnebago is only about 3 inches narrower that the Dartford tolls... which makes life interesting.Anyway, after the storming performance at Anglesey I was actually a little concerned about Brands. The entry on the start/finish straight was problematical all weekend and here is a little clip of when I got it quite a bit wrong.  I distinctly remember thinking "Don't Lift" as I was facing the pit wall as a big weight transfer in this slide would have had me spinning along the wall wiping both ends off the car.One Adrian M.http://www.blogger.com/profile/13888494463595532986RacingEvo@technotrouble.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35139372.post-92087632973263811692008-06-10T17:37:00.004Z2008-08-03T19:18:41.425ZWhat fun in the Sun AngleseyThursday/Friday TestingDuncan and I arrived at around 2am after a pretty long drive across the centre of the country. we simply crashed out until the  following day.  Arriving at night meant we missed all the scenery and the circuit is located in an area of outstanding beauty  I guess we saw it at its best over the weekend. I bought a car home from  Cadwell in one piece :-) breaking my succession of coolant failure, fire and blown engine experiences at this great little circuitThe day was baking hot  >25 deg c, so going out early for practice at 9:50 was a bonus.  I got through scrutineering fine, although this particular scrute Adrian M.http://www.blogger.com/profile/13888494463595532986RacingEvo@technotrouble.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35139372.post-49028488355636941322008-05-05T17:12:00.000Z2008-08-03T17:34:50.843ZPre Cadwell TweaksFollowing the drive shaft failure at Brands one of the main jobs to do was get some new drive shafts made up... as plainly my Cut N Shut Welded ones weren't up to the job. These I got made up by Jonathan Weston Taylor a fellow 750 MC racer who also runs an engineering business.I sent JWT a sample of the splines and the length required and he turned the new shafts around in about a week.  They Adrian M.http://www.blogger.com/profile/13888494463595532986RacingEvo@technotrouble.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35139372.post-34462896350927376782008-04-22T10:09:00.000Z2008-07-27T10:33:33.052ZA Fantastic weekend at Brands HatchSimply the best day at a Circuit since the Birkett 06.  And finally some payback for all the garage hours and development work.Friday testing was cold  but the track was dry... It was immediately evident that resolving the fuel issues has made a huge difference, as  have the suspension settings courtesy of Dave T and all the mods over the winter. So I dragged the bathroom scales down to the garage (Mrs M had already had a gentle chat about using the kitchen ones :-) ) and shoved the Diff and and reverse starter motor onto them. Total Weight a smidgen under 13Kg. Relative to both the old Adrian M.http://www.blogger.com/profile/13888494463595532986RacingEvo@technotrouble.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35139372.post-91739389149078428052007-10-14T18:37:00.000Z2007-11-08T08:00:02.044ZReverting back to old Diff Well after four months of shaking off the disappointment of a season and development cycle wasted , I've decide that I do want to race again, and this year I'm going to be ready for the start of the season. So after finally deciding to abandon the other diff it is time to revert to my old one. I'll lose the swanky engine driven reverse, but there's no point in having a swanky reverse if you Adrian M.http://www.blogger.com/profile/13888494463595532986RacingEvo@technotrouble.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35139372.post-84158387404752390212007-10-14T17:41:00.000Z2007-10-14T19:07:26.716ZLong Time no Post- so what happened? After the Brands meeting I took the racer to the following meeting a Mallory park in early June. Here again I suffered major overheating problems. Mallory is a lovely short circuit, I qualified last, and in the race I managed to keep with the slower members of class C for a couple of laps but eventually I had to start short shifting again to control the engine temp and lost touch with them.
